KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.17 g, 6 h), struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, Lampsakos, c. 320-301. Head of youthful Herakles in lion's skin headdress to right. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle in his right; to left, forepart of Pegasus to left; below throne, monogram of NO. Price 1382. Toned and clear. Nearly very fine.
