SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Pseudo-autonomous issue, 48/7 BC. Trichalkon (Bronze, 23.5 mm, 8.13 g, 12 h), year 19 (ΙΘ) of the Pompeian era = 48-47 BC. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ ΤΗΣ ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩΣ Tyche standing left, holding tiller or inverted anchor in left hand, cornucopiae in right; below, IΘ (date); all within wreath with thunderbolt at the top. McAlee 77. RPC I 4217. Very rare - none on CoinArchives. Dark brown patina with reddish-earthen deposits. Some striking weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
