BITHYNIA. Herakleia Pontika. Timotheus & Dionysios, tyrants, 346/5-337 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 9.60 g, 1 h). Wreathed head of Dionysos to left, thyrsos over shoulder. Rev. ΔΙΟΝΥΣΙΟΥ Herakles standing to left, erecting trophy, lion's skin draped over his arm. SNG BM Black Sea 1610. Attractively toned; fine style. Flaw on cheek, otherwise, very fine.

BITHYNIA. Herakleia Pontika. Klearchos, tyrant, circa 364-352 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 0.83 g, 12 h). [HPAK] Head of Herakles to left, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. MYSIA. Lampsakos. Circa 190-85 BC. (Bronze, 20.5 mm, 6.61 g, 12 h). Bearded head of Priapos to right, wreathed with ivy. Rev. ΛΑΜΨΑ/ΚΗΝΩΝ Forepart of Pegasos to right. SNG BN 1245-8. Brown patina with light earthen deposits. A few cleaning marks and light porosity, otherwise, very fine.

ISLANDS OFF MYSIA, Prokonnesos. Circa 411-387 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 14.5 mm, 2.42 g, 11 h). Female head to left, her hair bound in sakkos. Rev. ΠPO-KON Oinochoe to left. SNG Ashmolean 949. Good very fine.

Two serpents entwined around bow and bowcase; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡ; to right, horizontal amphora. Kleiner & Noe Series 8. SNG BN 1701. Lightly toned. Light porosity, otherwise, nearly very fine.

TROAS. Larissa. 4th century BC. Triobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.96 g, 10 h). Head of nymph to right. Rev. ΛΑΡ-ΙΣ-ΑΙ Amphora within incuse square. Cf. Traité II 2064 (diobol). Cf. Winterthur 2767 (diobol). Unique. The only known example of this, the largest denomination struck by this mint. Roughness, otherwise, very fine.

TROAS. Larissa (as Ptolemais). 3rd century BC. (Bronze, 21 mm, 4.15 g, 12 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΠTOΛEMAIEΩN Amphora; in the left field, eagle or crow standing to left. SNG von Aulock 2026 var (different denomination and as Lebedos-Ptolemais in Ionia). Possibly unpublished. Nearly very fine.

MΥΡINAIΩN Apollo Grynios standing to right, holding laurel branch in his left hand and phiale in his right; omphalos and amphora at his feet; in right field, monogram of ΓΡ. LESBOS. Methymna. Circa 350/30-250/40 BC. Obol (Silver, 8 mm, 0.36 g, 10 h), Samian standard. Facing head of Silenos. Rev. Tortoise within circular border; all within a round incuse. Franke 18b. HGC 6, 901. Rough surfaces as found, but toned and with a remarkably fine facing head of Silenos. A beautifully designed coin. Very fine.

IONIA. Ephesos. Circa 180-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 12.47 g, 12 h), year ΛΒ = 32 = 103-102. Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, ΛΒ (date) above EΦE; to right, lighted torch; between snakes heads, uraeus. DCA 325. Kleiner Dated 63. Toned. Very fine.

IONIA. Erythrai. Circa 240-170 BC. (Bronze, 17 mm, 2.78 g, 11 h), struck under the magistrate Gnotos, son of Ekatonymos. Head of youthful Dionysus to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. EPY / ΓNΩTOΣ/ ΕΚΑΤΟΝΥ/ΜΟΥ in four lines; grape bunch above. SNG Copenhagen 654. Dark green patina. Very fine.

IONIA. Smyrna. 3rd century BC. (Bronze, 13.5 mm, 1.94 g, 10 h), struck under the magistrate ...kris. Turreted head of Kybele to right. Rev. ΣΜΥΡ Krater surmounted by a lidded vessel containing fire; to left, crayfish. Cf. BMC 14-5 (magistrate). Cf. SNG Copenhagen 1114 (magistrate). Black patina. Surfaces slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
