CILICIA. Issos. Tiribazos, satrap of Lydia, 388-380 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.73 g, 5 h), circa 384-383. Tri (in Aramaic) Ba'al standing facing, head left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left. Rev. Facing half-length figure of Ahura-Mazda, head turned to right, his body terminated by a solar disk, holding wreath in his right hand and lotus blossom in his left. Casabonne series 1. Göktürk -. Cf. SNG BN 417 (stater and 'Tribzw'). Cf. SNG Levante 175-7 (stater and legends). SNG Levante Suppl. -. Pehaps unique.. Porous, otherwise, very fine.

Here we identify the mint responsible for this unique (?) issue of Tiribazos as Issos based on otherwise identical staters (SNG BN 416 and SNG Levante 175-7) which have the Greek legend ΙΣΣΙΚΩΝ appearing to the left of Ba'al.
