KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos II Gonatas, 277/6-239 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.98 g, 10 h), Struck posthumously under Antigonos Doson, Amphipolis, circa 229-221/0 BC. Horned head of Pan to left, wearing goat's skin tied around his neck and with lagobolon behind; all within the center of a Macedonian shield adorned with seven stars within double crescents. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOΥ Athena Alkidemos striding to left, hurling thunderbolt with her upraised right hand and holding shield with her left; in field to left, Macedonian helmet with transverse crest; in field to right, KT monogram. Panagopoulou Period IV 19 (O03/R18). SNG Saroglos 926 3261. SNG Copenhagen 1201. Excellent centering. Usual for die faults on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.

Horned head of Pan to left, wearing goatskin and around his neck and with lagobolon behind; all within the center of a Macedonian shield adorned with stars and crescents. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOΥ Athena Alkidemos striding to left, hurling thunderbolt with her upraised right hand and holding shield with her left; in field to left, Macedonian helmet with transverse crest; in field to right, monogram of ΗΡ. Panagopoulou Period II, 4-13 (O03/R- obverse die not recorded for type, combined with an unpublished reverse die). SNG Berry 354. SNG Copenhagen 1200. Perfect centering. Very fine.
