THRACE. Sestos. Circa 300 BC. Trichalkon (Bronze, 16 mm, 4.39 g, 5 h). Wreathed head of Persephone to right, wearing barley-wreath. Rev. ΣΗ Hermes standing to left, holding kerykeion in his right hand; amphora on the lower left field. HGC 3.2, 1647. Von Fritze 9. Brown patina. Light scratches on obverse, pit on brow, otherwise, very fine.

Nude ithyphallic Satyr moving right in the archaic ‘running-kneeling’ position, holding a nymph in his arms, who wears thin robes and raises her right hand in protest. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square of windmill form. Asyut 104. HGC 6, 331. Le Rider, Thasiennes 2. SNG Copenhagen 1008-1009. Toned. Light cleaning marks, otherwise, nearly very fine.
