LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.42 g, 3 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; behind neck, Θ. Rev. YEΛHTΩN Lion walking to right; above, Φ; below, Θ. HN III 1284. SNG Munich 860 (same dies). SNG Oxford 1225 (same dies). Williams 293 (O162/R227). Attractive light toning. Obverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, very fine.
