Nude rider on horse prancing to right, holding round shield and two lances with his left hand and striking downwards with a spear held in his upraised right; behind, to left, ⊢; to right, Λ; below, ΚΑΛ over Δ. Rev. ΤΑΡΑΣ Phalanthos seated astride dolphin to right, holding crested helmet with both hands; to left and right, eight-pointed star; below, API. Fischer-Bossert 771 (V303/R597). HN III 896. SNG Lloyd 178 (same dies). Vlasto 545. Fine style. Attractive light toning, and well-centered. Slightly rough fields, puncture or flan flaw on horse's rump, otherwise, very fine.

ΣΑ Youthful nude jockey riding horse walking to right, holding the reins with his left hand and crowning himself with his right; on ground line, Ionic capital. Rev. TΑΡΑΣ / KON Phalanthos riding dolphin to left, holding serpent coiled in his outstretched right hand and resting his left on the dolphin's back. Cf. Fischer-Bossert Group 75, 957 (V373/R-, unrecorded reverse die). HN III 942. Vlasto 657. Boldly struck from slightly deteriorated dies. About extremely fine.
