TROAS. Larissa. 4th century BC. Triobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.96 g, 10 h). Head of nymph to right. Rev. ΛΑΡ-ΙΣ-ΑΙ Amphora within incuse square. Cf. Traité II 2064 (diobol). Cf. Winterthur 2767 (diobol). Unique. The only known example of this, the largest denomination struck by this mint. Roughness, otherwise, very fine.

There are only four published silver coins from Larissa in Troas, all of which are diobols (Imhoof-Blumer, "Antike Griechische Münzen", SNR 19 (1913), 87; Traité II 2064; Winterthur 2767; and Wroth, "Greek Coins acquired by the British Museum in 1901", NC 1902, 26). This unique coin is the largest silver coin known from the mint.
