PHRYGIA. Aezanis. Agrippina II, wife of Claudius, 50-54. 1/3 Assarion (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.78 g, 12 h), struck under Nero. ΣΕ - ΒΑΣΤΗ Draped bust of Agrippina II to right, her hair tied in a braid at the back. Rev. ΑΙΖΑ - ΝΙΤΩΝ Kybele seated left on a throne, holding a phiale in her right hand and resting her left arm on two drums. BMC 57. RPC 3101. Rare. Clear and with an attractive green patina. Some roughness, otherwise, about extremely fine.

Although it has been suggested that the female bust on the obverse is that of Livia, the hair style is much closer to those found on busts that are definitely identified as those of Agrippina Junior.
