CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 325-280 BC. Diobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.31 g, 5 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Athenian helmet adorned with three rosettes. Rev. Herakles kneeling to right, holding club behind his back with his right hand and strangling the Nemean lion with his left. HN III 976. Vlasto 1372-1373. Nicely centered and attractive. Minor die faults on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

From a collection in Ticino formed prior to 2000.
