SICILY, Katane. Circa 415/3-404 BC. Litra (Silver, 12mm, 0.78 g 11). Head of Silenos to left, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΚΑΤΑΝΑΙΩΝ Winged thunderbolt between two shields. Boehringer, Kataneische LI 6-7. Mirone 82. SNG ANS 1266. A nicely toned and well centered example of extraordinarily fine style. Light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

Charioteer driving walking quadriga right, holding kentron and reins; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses; below, ketos. Rev. ΣVRΑΚΟΣΙΟΝ Head of Arethusa right, wearing earring and necklace, hair tied with pearl headband; around, four dolphins. Boehringer 410 (V212/R289). Beautifully toned and attractively centered. Minor roughness, otherwise, extremely fine.

SICILY. Syracuse. 466-405 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.18 g, 12 h), reverse die signed by Phrygillos, c. 415-405. Charioteer, holding goad in his right hand and the reins in left, driving galloping chariot to left; above, Nike flying right to crown the driver; in exergue, grain ear. Rev. ΣVPAKOΣION Head of Arethusa to left, her hair in a sakkos, and wearing an ampyx inscribed with ΦPY, four dolphins swimming around. Rizzo, pl. XLIII, 13 (same obverse die). SNG ANS 278 (same dies). Tudeer 53 (dies 18/32). Nicely toned. Lightly struck and with some minor bangs and marks, otherwise, good very fine.
