BRUTTIUM, The Brettii. Circa 211-208 BC. Double Unit (Didrachm?) (Bronze, 26mm, 15.95 g 5). Helmeted head of Ares left, griffin on helmet; below neck, thunderbolt. Rev. BPETTION Hera Hoplosima advancing right, holding shield with both hands and spear leaning against her; to right, bucranium. HN Italy 1987. SNG ANS 100. A sharp and attractive coin with a fine green patina. Minor encrustations, otherwise, good very fine.
