Tiberius, 14-37. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.58 g, 10 h), "Tribute Penny" type, Lugdunum, 36-37. TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Tiberius to right. Rev. PONTIF MAXIM Female figure (Livia?), seated right on a throne with decorated legs, holding a reversed spear with her right hand and an olive branch in her left. BMC 48. Cohen 16. RIC² 30. Toned, and with a remarkably fine and idealised portrait of the by now elderly emperor (he was about 78 when this coin was struck). Light porosity on reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
