BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 425-350 BC. Nomos (Silver, 19.5 mm, 7.62 g, 3 h). Eagle standing left, about to devour left coiled serpent held in its talons. Rev. QPO Tripod, legs terminating in lion's feet; grain ear to right. HN Italy 2152; SNG ANS - (same obverse die as 348). Rare type with eagle grasping a serpent.. Minor porosity. Very fine.
