Theodosius I, 379-395. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.46 g), Constantinople, 4th officina, 378-383. D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG Rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Theodosius to right. Rev. CONCORDI-A AVGGGΔ/ CONOB Constantinopolis seated facing on throne, her head to right, wearing helmet, holding a spear with her right hand and, with her left, a round shield, inscribed VOT/V/MVL/X, resting on a column, and with her right foot on a prow. Cohen 10. Depeyrot 38/1. RIC IX, 47b. Very well-struck and most attractive. Very minor mark on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
