Marcus Aurelius, as Caesar, 139-161. Aureus (Gold, 19.5 mm, 7.29 g, 6 h), struck under Antoninus Pius, Rome, 159-160. AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG PII F Head of Marcus Aurelius to right, with slight drapery over shoulders. Rev. TR POT XIIII C OS II Mars advancing to right, holding transverse spear in his right hand and a trophy in his left. Biaggi 893. BMC 994 (Antoninus Pius; this obverse die). Calicó 1973. RIC 481b (Antoninus Pius). Clear and attractive. Very minor scratch, otherwise, about extremely fine.
