Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.42 g, 7 h), Rome, 132-135. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Bare head of Hadrian to left, with slight drapery over his far shoulder. Rev. PIETATI AVG COS III P P Pietas seated left on throne with a back, holding patera with her left hand and scepter with her right. BMC 565 var (bust type). Cohen 1047. RIC 219. A superb piece, with a rare and expressive, left-facing portrait of noble elegance. Some minor discoloration, otherwise, good extremely fine.
