IONIA. Teos. Circa 470 BC. Stater (Silver, 23.3 mm, 11.80 g). Τ-Η-Ι-Ο-Ν Griffin with open jaws and his left foreleg raised, seated to right on ground line over an egg and dart frieze; to right, ivy leaf. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Balcer -. Extremely rare, unpublished save for its auction appearances and possibly unique. Most attractive, toned and with a finely centered obverse. Extremely fine.
