IONIA. Uncertain mint. Circa 600-550 BC. One twenty-fourth stater (Electrum, 6.5 mm, 0.61 g). Head of a bridled, winged horse (Pegasos?) to left, with traces of the wing on the horse's shoulder. Rev. Irregular incuse square with a roughly cruciform pattern. BMC Ionia, p. 11, 53. Fischer-Bossert 25 (P23/P23, same dies). Unusually well preserved and clear, a superb piece. Extremely fine.
