IC -XC Nimbate and draped bust of Christ facing, with two pellets on the cross nimbus, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels. Rev. B-Λ/Δ-N Latin cross on two steps, with globe at the end of each arm and with a crosslet at the center. CCS 1b. Metcalf, p. 33, Class 1 var. Schlumberger pl. I, 5 corr. Wäckerlin 161. Rare and desirable type . Nearly very fine.

CRUSADERS. Edessa. Baldwin II, second reign, 1108-1118. Follis (Bronze, 22 mm, 3.78 g). [BΑΓΔΟΙNΟC ΔΟΥ CTAΥ] Baldwin II, wearing armor and conical helmet, standing facing, head to left, holding cross in his right hand and placing his left on the hilt of his sword. Rev. Cross fleuronnée set on tendrils and with pellet in each end. CCS 9a. Metcalf 109-11. Dark green patina with light earthen deposits. Cleaning marks on reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
