CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd-1st centuries BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 3.31 g, 12 h), Imitating Alexander III. Degraded head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. VΛΛΙ Zeus seated left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, forepart of a 'lion' to left. Cf. Kostial 889-90. OTA pl. 43, 574. Very fine.

Pseudo-legend Zeus seated left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left. Cf. Kostial 894. OTA -. Lightly toned. Test cuts on edge on on head of Herakles, otherwise, nearly very fine.
