CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 302 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 7.78 g, 10 h). Youthful nude jockey riding horse walking to right, holding the reins with his left hand and crowning himself with his right; below, ΣΑ above Ionic column capital. Rev. ΤΑΡΑΣ Phalanthos riding dolphin to left, holding snake in his outstretched right hand and whip in his left; below, ΚΟΝ. HN III 947. Fischer-Bossert 971 (V378/R747). Vlasto 654 (same dies). Clear and well-struck. Very minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
