PHRYGIA. Laodikeia. Circa 133/88-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 12.24 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Olympiodoros, son of Hermogenes. Cista mystica with half-open lid from which a serpent issues to the left; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. ΛΑΟ Two serpents coiled around a bow case; to right, winged caduceus; above, OΛΥΜΠΙΟΔΩΡΟΣ / ΕΡΜΟΓΕΝΟΥ. BMC 6. SNG Copenhagen 493. Well-centered and lightly toned. Very fine.
