ATTICA. Athens. 87/6 BC. (Bronze, 19 mm, 6.76 g, 12 h), struck under Mithradates VI of Pontos and Ariston. Head of Athena, wearing crested Corinthian helmet to right. Rev. AΘE Zeus standing right, hurling thunderbolt; to right, star between two crescents. HGC 4, 1710. Kroll 97. SNG Copenhagen 307. A particularly well-struck and nicely patinated example. Amongst the finest known. Good very fine.
