ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ Poseidon, nude, standing to left, his right foot on a rock, holding a trident with his left hand and resting his right on his right thigh; in outer left field, monogram. Newell 154b = SNG Munich 1051 (same obverse die). Same obverse die as Nomos 20, 2020, 127. Toned. Very rare type, and possibly only the third available over at least 30 years (all from the same obverse die). Nearly very fine.

KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos II Gonatas, 277/6-239 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.06 g, 1 h), Chalkis, circa 274/1-260/55. Horned head of Pan to left, wearing goat's skin tied around his neck and with lagobolon behind; all within the center of a Macedonian shield adorned with seven stars within double crescents. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOΥ Athena Alkidemos striding to left, hurling thunderbolt with her upraised right hand and holding shield with her left; in field to left, X; in field to right, AP monogram. Panagopoulou Period III. SNG Alpha Bank -. SNG Ashmolean -. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG Saroglos -. Same obverse die as Gemini 14, 2018, 124, but . Carefully centered and clear. Apparently unpublished. Good very fine.
