LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 400-340 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.29 g, 10 h), from the "T" group. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin; behind neck guard, T. Rev. YEΛHTΩN Lion prowling to right; in exergue, owl flying right. HN III 1280. SNG Ashmolean 1168 (same dies). Williams 227 (O138/R175). Winterthur 338 (same dies). Graffito ('Φ') in field above lion, otherwise, very fine.
