CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 325-280 BC. Diobol (Silver, 13 mm, 1.15 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet the bowl of which is decorated with a vine. Rev. [TAP]AN Herakles standing facing, leaning to right, lifting and strangling the Nemean lion grasped in a choke hold; in left, club. HN III 976. Vlasto 1377-80. Lightly toned, and with an unusual helmet decoration for this issue. Good very fine.

From a collection in Ticino formed prior to 2000.
