THRACE. Maroneia(?). 5th-4th centuries BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 7 mm, 0.25 g, 9 h). Head of ram to left. Rev. Kantharos; above, M; all within incuse square. Tzamalis 49 (uncertain Thraco-Macedonian mint, and without M). Unpublished with M on reverse. Very fine.

From the Vineyard Collection, ex H. Grün 28, 12 November 1999, 226.

The presence of a small M above the Kantharos on this coin, is a confirmation to scholars and amateurs that supported the attribution of this series to the mint of Maroneia.
