Two Byzantine-style imperial figures standing facing, holding between them labarum set on three steps; stars, name and titles of Nur al-Din Mahmud, and blundered Greek legends in field. Rev. Christ standing facing; titles of Nur al-Din Mahmud and blundered Greek legends in field. Album 1850. S&S Type 73. Earthen patina. Nearly very fine.

ISLAMIC, Ayyubids. Mayyafariqin & Jabal Sinjar. al-'Adil I Sayf al-Din Ahmad, AH 589-596 / AD 1193-1200. Dirham (Bronze, 31 mm, 11.11 g, 1 h), as governor, Sultan AH 596-615 / 1199-1218, Mayyafariqin (= Diyarbakır), AH 591 (AD 1194/5). Arabic marginal inscription, with date formula on either side of the bust Draped bust of Prince facing, wearing a Byzantine-style crown. Rev. Central inscription of six lines with further inscription in the left, right and upper margins. Balog, Ayyubids 340; Album 809. Well struck. Good very fine.

Gosdantianos king Gosdantin I standing facing, crowned and wearing royal vestments, in his right hand holding sword, cross in his left. Rev. Struck in the city of Sis Cross with central rays. ACV 417. Cf. CCA 1729. Well struck and finely detail; dark greenish-brown patina. Nearly extremely fine.
