MACEDON. Aineia. Circa 510-480 BC. Diobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.32 g). Archaic-style bearded head of Aineas to right, wearing Corinthian helmet. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. AMNG III, 4. HGC 3.1, 373. SNG ANS 71 (but of later style). Very rare, especially in this denomination and of such fine archaic style. Struck on an uneven flan with porous surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
