KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.19 g, 12 h), Byblos, 330-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on throne with a back, holding long scepter with his left hand and eagle in his right; to left, monogram of ΑΡ. Price 3426. Struck on a slightly short flan but attractive ad in high relief. Extremely fine.
