MACEDON. Thessalonica. Time of Caracalla, 198-217. (Bronze, 18 mm, 5.44 g, 12 h). ΘΕCCΑ-ΛΟΝΙΚΗ Draped, veiled and turreted bust of the Tyche of Thessalonica to right. Rev. ΘΕC/CΑΛΟ/ΝΙΚΕ/ΩΝ in four lines within wreath. SNG ANS 816-7. With an attractive brown-gold patina and clear surfaces. Good very fine.

ΘΕCCΑΛΟΝΙΚΕΩΝ ΠΥΘΙΑ Tetrastastyle temple seen in perspective from left. Touratsoglou 3 var. (V6/- obverse die not recorded for type and unrecorded reverse die close to R2). Varbanov 4710 var (obverse legend). With a pleasant dark brown patina. Very fine.
