BAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ / ΘEOΠATOΡOΣ - EΥEΡΓETOΥ Apollo seated to left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and bow in his left; in exergue, Δ. HGC 9, 887a. SC 1785.1d. SMA 188. Sharp and with a surprisingly noble and elegant portrait. Obverse slightly off-center, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche to right. Rev. ΑΠΑΜΕΩΝ / ΓΞΣ Alexander the Great, wearing elephant's skin headdress, military dress and boots, raising his right hand and holding spear and shield with his left, advancing to left, his head turned back to right. BMC 1. DCA 134. HGC 9, 1426. A fascinating coin with a most interesting reverse. Some rough areas, otherwise, good very fine.
