MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 12.68 g, 12 h), c. 98-95. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, monogram of ΠEPΓ; to right, serpent-entwined staff of Asclepius; between snakes heads, ΛY. Kleiner, Hoard 16. Pinder 97. SNG Paris 1721. Nicely toned and sharp. Obverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, extremely fine.
