THESSALY. Trikka. Circa 425-400 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 16 mm, 2.78 g, 6 h). Youthful hero, Thessalos, nude but for his cloak and petasos hanging over his shoulder, striding right, but with his head torso slightly turned to front; holding, with both hands, a band around the head of the forepart of a bull, rushing to right. Rev. Τ - ΡΙ - Κ- ΑΙO-Ν (sic!) Forepart of horse to right; all within incuse square. BCD II, 781.2,4 var (arrangement of ethnic). HGC 4, 311. With a lively obverse representation of excellent early Classical style. Surfaces slightly porous, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

THESSALY. Perrhaiboi. First half of the 4th century BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 20 mm, 7.35 g, 12 h). Veiled head of Hera facing, turned slightly to the left, wearing necklace. Rev. ΠΕΡΡΑΙΒΩ[Ν] Zeus, nude, standing facing, head turned to left. holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BCD I 1244. Rogers 439 var. Traité IV 582, pl. CCXCIII, 5. Unusually nice and with a fine dark brown patina. Good very fine.

Laureate head of Apollo to right; to left, monogram of ΛΕΥ. Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑ / ΛΩΝ Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and extending shield in her left; in field to left and right, Α-Ν. BCD II 888.1. BMC 41. SNG Munich 212. An attractive, toned example. Rather rough and uncleaned surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
