THESSALY. Trikka. Circa 440-400 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 16 mm, 2.69 g, 5 h). Youthful hero, Thessalos, nude but for cloak and petasos hanging over his shoulder, striding right, holding a band in both his hands around the head of the forepart of a bull moving right. Rev. TΡIK-K-A-ON (retrograde) Forepart of bridled horse to right, his head turned very slightly to front. BCD II 776.3 var (different legend arrangements). HGC 4, 311. Toned. Scratches, scuffs and marks. About very fine.

Youthful hero, Thessalos, nude but for his cloak and petasos hanging over his shoulder, striding right, but with his head torso slightly turned to front; holding, with both hands, a band around the head of the forepart of a bull, rushing to right. Rev. Τ - ΡΙ - Κ- ΑΙO-Ν (sic!) Forepart of horse to right; all within incuse square. BCD II, 781.2,4 var (arrangement of ethnic). HGC 4, 311. With a lively obverse representation of excellent early Classical style. Surfaces slightly porous, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

THESSALY. Perrhaiboi. First half of the 4th century BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 20 mm, 7.35 g, 12 h). Veiled head of Hera facing, turned slightly to the left, wearing necklace. Rev. ΠΕΡΡΑΙΒΩ[Ν] Zeus, nude, standing facing, head turned to left. holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BCD I 1244. Rogers 439 var. Traité IV 582, pl. CCXCIII, 5. Unusually nice and with a fine dark brown patina. Good very fine.
