KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 16.93 g, 5 h), struck under Seleukos I, Carrhae, c. 305-300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; below throne, monogram; in the left field crescent and ΔI monogram. Price 3818. SC 41.3c. Struck in high relief. Very fine.
