KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24.5 mm, 16.73 g, 7 h), struck under Kassander, Amphipolis, circa 307-297. Head of youthful Herakles in lion's skin headdress to right. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left on throne, holding eagle on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, Λ over torch; below throne, monogram of ΘE. Ehrhardt 38. Price 463. Deeply toned. Mounting traces on the edges, otherwise, very fine.
