KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.97 g, 12 h), Salamis in Cyprus, circa 323-315. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, rudder and ΛΩ; below throne, NIK monogram. Price 3155. Bold and well-centred on a broad flan. Some marks, otherwise, good very fine.

Macedonian shield with facing Gorgoneion at the center. Rev. B - A Macedonian helmet; in the lower left field, kerykeion. Price 3158. Glossy green-brown patina. Good very fine.

Head of Herakles in lion's skin headdress to right; before his forehead, kerykeion. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY above, kerykeion to left over club to right; below, bow in case over star. Newell, Tarsos 46. Price 3061. Of unusually fine condition and with a lovely dark patina; particularly uncommon with a symbol on the obverse. Very fine.
