KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 14.50 g, 12 h), Pella, c. 336/5-329/8. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Nude jockey on horse prancing to left, holding long palm branch in his right hand; below horse, kantharos. Le Rider 344 (D344/R276). Toned and elegant. Some very slight die roughness on the obverse and a very minor double-strike on the reverse, otherwise. About extremely fine.

Ex Nomos 14, 17 May 2017, 93 (unsold) and from the Stoecklin Collection, bought from Hess AG in Luzern, prior to 1975.
