SICILY. Hybla Megala. Roman rule, after 210 BC. Trias (?) (Bronze, 20 mm, 7.63 g, 12 h). Veiled female head to right, wearing kalathos; to left, bee. Rev. ΥBΛAΣ [MEΓAΛAΣ] Dionysos standing left, holding long scepter in his left hand and thymiaterion in his right; at feet, panther. CNS III 1. HGC 497. SNG ANS 195ff. Glossy dark green surfaces, and with an unusual depiction of Dionysos holding a thymiaterion. Very fine.
