BRUTTIUM. Kaulonia. Circa 440-400 BC. Third Nomos (Silver, 16 mm, 2.26 g, 3 h). KAY Apollo, nude, striding right, brandishing laurel branch in his upraised right hand, and with his left arm outstretched to right; below his left arm, stag standing right, head turned back to left. Rev. KAYΛΟNI-A[TAΝ] Stag standing right; kantharos above, Φ below. HN Italy 2056. Noe, Caulonia 216 (same dies). SNG ANS 219 (same dies). Toned and bold; a very scarce denomination. Struck on an oblong flan, otherwise, very fine.
