BRUTTIUM. The Brettii. Circa 211-208 BC. Unit (Bronze, 22 mm, 9.02 g, 2 h). Laureate head of Zeus to right; thunderbolt behind his neck. Rev. ΒΡΕΤΤΙΩΝ Nude warrior advancing to right, holding spear and large shield; at his feet to right, bunch of grapes. HN III 1988. Scheu 42. SNG ANS 102. An appealing coin with a fine green patina and attractive details. Overstruck on an earlier issue, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
