Hadrian, 117-138. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 6.93 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 134-138. HADRIANVS • AVG COS III P P Bare head of Hadrian to left. Rev. AEGYPTOS Egypt reclining left, holding sistrum in her right hand and resting her left arm on basket; at her feet, ibis standing right on low column. BMC 796. Calicó 1185. RIC 296h. Very rare. Some scratches and marks, otherwise, about very fine.

From an old European collection and with a toning that suggests a collecting history going back to the early 19th century.
