KINGS OF CAPPADOCIA. Ariarathes IV - Ariarathes VII, Circa 220-101/0 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 13 mm, 1.79 g, 12 h). Head of Artemis to left. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ APIAPAΘ Tripod. Henseler 26 (possibly same obverse die). Roma 4, (2012) 1865. Only three examples of this very rare type are known: Roma 4, 1865, Henseler 26, and the present example. Dark patina. Cleaning scratches and a flan fault on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
