ATTICA. Athens. 124-123 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.88 g, 11 h), "New Style" coinage, Mikion, Euryklei and Arestos. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. ΑΘΕ ΜΙΚΙΩN EYPYKΛE / APEΣTOΣ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, Dioskouroi to left; on amphora, K; below amphora, ΣΦ (= contractor’s initials). SNG Copenhagen 265. Thompson 488d-f (this obverse die). A rare variety; nicely toned. Very fine.
