ATTICA. Athens. 134-133 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.71 g, 11 h), "New Style" or "stephaniphoros" coinage, Polemon, Alcetes and Theodotos, magistrates. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. ΑΘΕ ΠOΛEMΩN AΛKE-THΣ ΘΕΟΔ-OTOΣ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left, tripod; on amphora, A; below amphora, ΣΩ (= contractor’s initials). Thompson 465a (this obverse die). Rare and very well centered. Good very fine.
