ATTICA. Athens. 138/7 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33.5 mm, 16.34 g, 12 h), New Style, Glau... and Eche.... Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. Α-ΘΕ /ΓΛ/ΑΥ -ΕΧΕ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, draped and radiate facing bust of Helios; on amphora, H (= 8th month); to left of owl, ΚΤ (= contractor’s initials); all within olive wreath. Thompson 298 var (this obverse die but not recorded for this contractor's initials). Struck on a broad flan. Traces of overstriking and slightly porous, otherwise, good very fine.
