ΑΘΕ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left and right, monogram; around, olive wreath. Thompson 11 var. Obverse slightly doubled and lightly struck; traces of cleaning, otherwise, very fine.

Ex. Obolos 5, 26 June 2016, 245 and from a European collection, formed before 2005.

Α-ΘΕ /ΓΛ/ΑΥ -ΕΧΕ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, draped and radiate facing bust of Helios; on amphora, H (= 8th month); to left of owl, ΚΤ (= contractor’s initials); all within olive wreath. Thompson 298 var (this obverse die but not recorded for this contractor's initials). Struck on a broad flan. Traces of overstriking and slightly porous, otherwise, good very fine.

ΑΘΕ ΠOΛEMΩN AΛKE-THΣ ΘΕΟΔ-OTOΣ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left, tripod; on amphora, A; below amphora, ΣΩ (= contractor’s initials). Thompson 465a (this obverse die). Rare and very well centered. Good very fine.
